# Stores

> Create and manage vendor stores, subdomains, and custom domains.

Stores are the top-level seller unit. Each store has a unique subdomain and optional custom domain.

## Bootstrap (current user)

GET /api/dashboard/bootstrap
```

Returns the signed-in user’s stores, primary store id, plan entitlements, and shell data for the dashboard.

## Custom domain

Domain connect and verify use `GET/PUT/DELETE /api/stores/{storeId}/domain` and `POST /api/stores/{storeId}/domain/verify` (session + `manageSettings`), shown in the dashboard under **Settings → Domain**. DNS must CNAME to the platform store host before verification succeeds.

## Notes

* Never use the shell placeholder store id `shell-display-store` in API calls — wait for real bootstrap
* Mutations are store-scoped; pass the active `storeId` when the route requires it
