# Dodo Payments

> Accept payments with Dodo Payments, tax included.

Dodo Payments is a hosted checkout. It handles tax for you.

## What you need

| Field | Where to find it |
| - | - |
| API key | Dodo Payments dashboard → Developer. Test or live |
| Webhook secret | shown when you create the webhook |

## Steps

**1. Create an API key**

In the Dodo Payments dashboard, create an API key.

**2. Add the webhook**

Add a webhook for `payment.succeeded` with this URL:

```
https://dash.joinmarkt.com/api/dodo/webhook
```

Dodo signs it with Standard Webhooks headers. Copy the signing secret.

**3. Connect in Join Markt**

Go to **Payment methods → Dodo Payments**. Paste the API key and the webhook secret.

**4. Turn it on**

Enable **Active at checkout**, then save.

You don't create products in Dodo. Join Markt makes one pay-what-you-want product on the first checkout and reuses it.

## Options

| Option | What it does |
| - | - |
| Sandbox | use test keys and test payments |
| Inline checkout mode | opens Dodo checkout on your page, not a new page |
| Prices include tax | your price already has tax in it |

> The order is marked paid only when the webhook arrives. Never deliver before that.
