# Pages

> Built-in templates, custom pages at /pages/handle, and the two ways to start a new page.

Each page of your storefront renders one template from `templates/`. Header and footer groups wrap every page.

## Built-in templates

| Template file | Page | Address |
| - | - | - |
| `templates/index.json` | Home | `/` |
| `templates/products.json` | All products | `/products` |
| `templates/product.json` | Product | `/product/<slug>` |
| `templates/group.json` | Product group | `/group/<groupId>` |
| `templates/cart.json` | Cart | `/cart` |
| `templates/reviews.json` | Reviews | `/reviews` |
| `templates/support.json` | Support | `/support` |
| `templates/policy.json` | Policies | `/privacy`, `/terms`, `/refunds` |
| `templates/404.json` | Page not found | Any unknown address |

`templates/index.json` is required. In the editor, the product and group templates preview with your first product or group.

## Custom pages

A custom page is a file `templates/page.<handle>.json` and lives at `/pages/<handle>`. The handle uses lowercase letters, digits and single dashes, up to 48 characters.

| File | Address |
| - | - |
| `templates/page.about.json` | `/pages/about` |
| `templates/page.shipping-info.json` | `/pages/shipping-info` |

Sections whose schema lists `"templates": ["page"]` can be added to every custom page.

## Add a page

**1. Open Add page**

In the builder, open the page picker and choose **Add page**.

**2. Name it**

Type a title such as "About us". The address appears under it, for example `/pages/about-us`.

**3. Pick how to start**

* **Sections**: build the page in Visual from ready sections.
* **Its own code**: write the whole page design in one file. The builder creates a section folder in `src/sections/` and opens it in Code.

Renaming a page also updates links in your theme (menus, buttons) that point to it.

## Linking to pages

Use store-relative paths such as `/pages/about` or `/products`. In Liquid, pass internal links through `| url` so they work in the preview and on the live store.
